Everest for Education” - Charity Trek to Everest Base Camp
Friendship Society Nepal (FSN)is a humanitarian organization working in rural Nepalese communities and in Kathmandu. Our aim is to improve the lives of vulnerable women and children in Nepal through better access to education, and through educational programs and community development projects.
The remote and underfunded Lura Village School is in desperate need of new classrooms. School attendance has increased in recent years through the work of FSC -- especially amongst young girls. The school now offers a high school education alongside primary education. 100% of the money raised through “Trek for an Education” will be used to build 4 new classrooms in Lura Village & Gorakhani Village.
Your Australian trek leaders are Cairns based experienced paramedics, Shane White and Kylie Jones. Kylie and Shane have volunteered with Friends of Himalayan Children for many years They have spent time in Batase village and are very involved with Adventure Sports in North Queensland.
Your Nepali team will comprise of highly skilled and experienced trekking guides and porters including FHC founder and Take on Nepal company owner, Nima Dorjee Tamang. You will also be guided by Friendship World Treks company owner Nima Dorjee Tamang, and extremely experienced trekking guides Lakpa Tamang and Singa Tamang and Many more.
Prior to the Everest Trek you will be welcomed to Lura Village where you will see first hand where the money raised will be going, and if you choose to return to Nepal, you will be welcomed back to assist with the building of the classrooms.
