Rising global temperatures have dramatically expanded moraine-dammed glacial lakes in Nepal's Everest and Rolwaling regions. WRED's research team deployed high-resolution multispectral drones and bathymetric sonar sensors to map lake depth and dam stability. The empirical findings were submitted to the Department of Hydrology & Meteorology to establish early-warning siren stations for vulnerable downstream Sherpa settlements.
